A mother and aunt have been arrested in connection with the death of 12-year-old Jacqueline "Mimi" Torres, whose remains were found in a container near an abandoned home.

City officials announced that Karla Garcia, Mimi's mother, has been charged with murder, while her sister, Jackelyn Garcia, has been charged with cruelty to persons.

Police are seeking help in locating Jonatan Anita, who has not been found. Mimi's remains were discovered on October 8 in a container in the backyard of an abandoned home on Clark Street.
